Welcome!

Bamboo DNA was founded by artist Gerard Minakawa in 2007, when he'd finally decided to commit himself fully to the environmental message of bamboo after ten rollercoaster years as a professional industrial designer.

If you follow our progress here and on Facebook, you'll see a wide variety of creative projects by Minakawa as well as many other innovative designers. Enjoy!

2010 started off with a BIG BAMBOO SPIDER bang, at the Natural History Museum of LA County, between January 8 - 15. This monstrous arachnid was inspired by the Golden Silk Orbweaver, a native spider species of North America.
